Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Organising Committee it is our great honor to invite you to the 5th Panhellenic Congress on Management, Economics and Health Policy, which will be held in Athens from 2 to 5 December 2009 at the Athens HILTON Hotel, under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity.
Following the positive feedback in the previous Congresses, the National School of Public Health (Health Economics Department) realizes the 5th Panhellenic Congress on Management, Economics and Health Policy. The Congresses' main goal is to expand the terms and conditions of the interdisciplinary discussions and of the analysis of the major problems which involve the health sector in Greece, aiming mainly at the appointment of alternative solutions in the affair of sanitary growth.
More specifically the focus of the 5th Panhellenic Congress is the innovation and furthermore the novelties that deal with the health and sanitary care. The selection of suitable biomedical and pharmaceutical technology in the management of chronic diseases and the consequences in the health cost, the quest of medical effectiveness and efficiency in the sanitary services and the social insurance as well as the choices of consumers in the medical care, constitute the main axes of discussion on an international scale.
The aim of the Congress is to explore the effects of innovation in health policy, on the grounds of scientific documentation in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency and therefore develop the configuration of national sanitary policies in clinical practice, in the sanitary interventions and in the reconstruction of health services.
The scientific program of the Congress includes Symposiums, Laboratories, Workshops, Oral Presentations and Round tables. Specialized themes of high interest will be discussed with proposals from distinguished International and Greek scientists' in collaboration with prestigious organizations and universities. Moreover, for the new professionals in the health sector, the conduct of Special Workshops will contribute considerably to their scientific training and briefing.
As a conclusion and for all the abovementioned reasons, we look forward to your positive reply to the Organising Committee's invitation to participate actively in the 5th Panhellenic Congress on Management, Economics and Health Policy.

Language
The official language of the congress is Greek. However, there will be translation (English-Greek, Greek-English) in the sessions where foreign speakers take part.
